Scalp Massage

Massaging the scalp can help stimulate the nerves and blood vessels beneath the skin while calming muscle tension around the head.  The massage therapist will use their fingers to rub the base of the scalp beneath the hair, the sides of the head, the forehead, chin, hairline, and back of the neck.  Scalp massage is very beneficial for those who suffer from migraines due to stress. Scalp Massage is also good for hair loss. It will increase blood flow to the hair follicles, condition the scalp and enhance the strength of the roots.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massages focus on connective tissue, and the goal is to produce changes in movement and posture. A deep tissue massage focuses on stretching fascia,  (a three-dimensional web of connective tissue that surrounds, supports and penetrates all of the muscles, bones, nerves and organs).  Deep tissue massage works layer by layer through connective tissue and muscles down to the deepest accessible layers to change posture and create freedom of movement by releasing facial adhesions and chronic muscle contracture.  During a deep tissue massage, the therapists will use their fingers, thumbs, fists, forearms and elbows to stretch each muscle and facial layer.  Deep tissue work creates micro-tears in the fascia, which fill with elastin and collagen in about three days, creating muscles that are more flexible, supple and have greater range of motion.  This massage is a must for athletes.

Myofascial Release Massage

Myofascial therapy relieves soft tissue restrictions that cause pain.  Fascia is composed of an elasto-collagenous complex that completely surrounds and infuses with every organ, muscle, bone, nerve, and blood vessel.  Muscle pain can be caused due to inflammation in the body's soft tissues. This massage can help reduce the pain from muscle injury or from excessive strain on a particular muscle or muscle groups, ligament or tendon (tendonitis).

Myofascial Release Therapy is a type of safe, low load stretch that releases tightness and pain throughout the body caused by myofascial pain syndrome, which describes chronic muscle pain that is worse in certain areas known as trigger points.

Geriatric Massage

Geriatric massage is for senior citizens and/or individuals with specific health conditions with confirmed physician's permission.  This type of massage uses gentle and light application of massage techniques and can include passive stretching and a light oil or lotion to permit the muscles to be worked on without causing excessive friction to the skin.  This massage can help enhance blood circulation, combat depression, improve balance and flexibility, reduce the pain of arthritis, increase joint mobility, improve posture and encourage overall well-being.

Geriatric massage can be especially helpful for maintaining and improving overall health as we age.

Lymph Drainage massage stimulates the lymphatic system with extremely light, circular pumping movements.  By stimulating the lymphatic system, the massage therapist helps drain puffy, swollen tissues, supports the body's immune system, helps the body heal from surgery, and aids in the body's natural waste removal or detoxification.

Maternity (Prenatal) Massage

Maternity massages are wonderful complementary choices for prenatal care.  Maternity massages help reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage can help relieve many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema.  Maternity massages also reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulations, helps to relax nervous tension which aids in better sleep and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes. Depending on which terms you are in the therapist may utilize techniques as Reflexology, Swedish massage or others that address your specific needs.

*Although massage is very beneficial, massage under certain circumstances (high risk) during pregnancy is not advised. Therefore, for you and your baby's safety, we do ask for a doctor's note stating that you are cleared for massage*

Reflexology Treatment

Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas, on the feet, hands and sometimes ears.  The theory behind reflexology is that certain areas of your hands, feet and ears all correspond to organs and systems of the body. It is believed that pressure applied to these areas affects the organs and benefits the person's health.  Reflexology is relaxing and may be an effective way to alleviate stress.

Cupping Therapy

An ancient Chinese practice, Cupping therapy uses suction and negative pressure rather than applying

pressure to the muscle as practiced in traditional massage therapy to provide a wide range of health

benefits. This gentle suction helps encourage blood flow, draw toxins from deep within the muscle and

tissue to stimulate healing as well as loosen muscle, anti-inflammatory, clear respiratory congestion,

relieve pain, remove energy blockages, invigorate local circulation, relieve stress, improve digestion, and helps to remove and eliminate cellulite.

Because of the suction, there is a chance that the cups will leave a slight "bruise" or soreness.

These bruises are caused by the toxins being drawn from muscle and pooling under the skin, waiting to

be eliminated through the Lymph System. Bruises should not last more than 1-2 weeks, depending on

your level of stagnation and toxicity. The muscle discomfort you may experience is a result of the

muscles and connective tissue being loosened.

These bruises and soreness are actually a sure sign of a successful treatment, having helped remove

toxins and stagnation from your muscles. It is extremely important to stay well hydrated after your Cupping session. You will want to flush these

toxins from your Lymph System as quickly as possible (by hydrating) to avoid soreness and/or illness.

*Because the purpose of using cups to draw blood to the skin Cupping is not recommend for those with bleeding disorders or taking anticoagulants. Please check with your Physician before scheduling your cupping session*

You can schedule your Cupping session one of two ways:

1. As an "add-on" treatment to your traditional massage service. This option allows you to try to

modality out. There will be only a few cups used a selected area.

2. As a Cupping Massage. In this session, as many cups will be used as necessary on any/all areas needing attention.

Sarga Massage

Sarga Bodywork is a form of barefoot massage in which the practitioner uses the support of a fabric strap fastened to a massage table to deliver therapeutic deep tissue and myofascial techniques. The purpose of the fabric strap is to provide the practitioner with stability and add tensional force to the barefoot technique. By utilizing the Sarga strap and barefoot methods, the practitioner is able to deliver consistent pressure over a broader surface area that is both relaxing and incredibly effective to the recipient.

Sarga is different from other forms of barefoot massage not only by the use of a fabric strap opposed to wooden ceiling bars, but also by the encouragement of myofascial release techniques. Myofascial techniques use slow high friction contact in order to stimulate stretch response of the fascial layers and release of tense muscle tissue. This technique aims to facilitate length, mobility, release, and increased hydration in recipient’s connective tissues.
